WHY?
As usual, the Bucs find themselves in an late season dog fight to make the playoffs. A 3-4 start, sound familiar. Well we pulled it off for the fourth year in a row. Now at 6-5, the Bucs need to win at least 4 out of the last 5. (Remember 5-0 in 97, why cant we do that again and maintain the pace???) The remaining schedule is very favorable. This weekend against a dangerous but beatable 0-11 Detroit Lion team, followed by the final road game of the year at Chicago. Then the Bucs close out with 3 games at home against the Saints, Ravens, and Eagles. With a successful end to the season and a little help, the division could still be up for grabs. It starts on Sunday versus Detroit.

Up Next
Back in 1976, a brand new expansion team completed a record setting year in the NFL for all the wrong reasons. The Tampa Bay Bucs completed the year 0-14, the only team in NFL history to finish a season without a victory. After 26 straight losses, the Bucs finally won against New Orleans. On Sunday, the Bucs have a chance to send a team along the road to a similar destiny when the 0-11 Lions come to RJS. Gone are the days of Barry Sanders running for over 1000 yards in one game against the Bucs. Detroit is a team that has had some bad breaks and should not be taken lightly. If the Bucs bring their A Game, it will be another long Sunday for the Lions. Game Time: Sunday, December 9, 2001 at RJS in Tampa. TB(6-5) DE(0-11)
